Roughly, how much will it cost?
A home inspection for a typical 3 to 5 bedroom house, with 2 floors, 3 bathrooms and not older than 25 years would cost approximately $365.00 plus HST (Canadian Tax).  Older homes with crawlspaces, hard-to-get-into attics or homes that have had an extraordinary amount of renovations may cost more.  Generally, an inspection should take about 3+ hours to complete (1½ to 2 hours to inventory, and a further ¾ to 1 hour to produce and present the report).

Something to Think About

A typical home inspection costs approximately 1/10th of 1% of the actual selling price of the house.

     Some
legal professionals charge a great deal more than an inspector, and may not even see or set foot into the home.

All licensed home inspectors in BC have errors or omissions protection and have liability coverage  -  many also have WCB and carry a local or mobile business license.

    A Registered Home Inspector
(RHI) is required to "upgrade their skills" on a regular basis to maintain his or her professional status.
